The Classic VS Alternative Valentine’s Day Looks With Tobi
No matter whether you’re single, dating, in a relationship or married, you’re most likely aware that Valentine’s Day is not too far away.
One of the biggest struggles for me is deciding what outfit to wear no matter what I’m doing! But Tobi have made a hell of a lot easier for me…
They very kindly let me choose a few pieces from their website to style for Valentine’s day including this beaut of a dress below.
This is the Date Night Dress in Wine which has a skater fit and a bra clasp back, perfect for showing a bit of skin whether you’re going on a cocktail date with your besties or for a candlelit dinner with your significant other.
I’ve perfectly paired this burgundy beauty with my trusty checked blazer coat with red running through it, my simple black heels and my Abbott Lyon Kensington Watch. I let the dress do all the talking for me with an understated NYX nude lip in Ruffle Trim and thick full lashes with this Wonderfully Real Mascara.
This dress isn’t for the faint hearted with it’s plunging neckline and strappy back but throw over a chunky knit and you can quickly dress it down.
Personally, I love the neckline and it makes me feel sexy and empowered which is exactly what I want to feel on Valentine’s Day. There’s nothing wrong with a bit of cleavage, is there? The classic fit, colour and style is one which, to me, is timeless but if red isn’t your thing, you can also pick this up in a light pink or black too.
I think I could just about pass for the red dress lady dancing emoji and I’m sure I’ll replicate that after a few cocktails on the 14th.
Now there’s the formal outfit out of the way, let’s talk about the softer, sweeter dress that I’ve paired with some Converse for a more casual affair.
Perfect for a cute stroll or a trip to the cinema, this Grey Skater Dress is a very versatile little number. I’ve styled it with a black polo neck, black tights and my high top All Stars which go with practically everything.
What I love about this dress is the quality of the lace it’s made with; it’s soft, pretty and oh so detailed. The straps have a spaghetti texture and they’re designed to cross over on the chest but I think it looks better on the back as it gets a little fussy round the front.
As I’m a bit of a booby lady, I don’t feel 100% safe in this dress without something under it as I feel like I’m going to fall out of it. But if your chest isn’t as big as mine, I’m sure you could pull this off on it’s own pretty damn well. I’m going to try it again in summer with some boob tape and some nipple covers and I’m sure it’ll work just fine!
This dress comes a whole load of colours has all the Alice in Wonderland vibes, well on me anyway.
Thanks so much to Tobi for letting me style these pieces and create a classic and an alternative Valentine’s Day look for you all.
What are you up to this Valentine’s Day? Are you having a Galentine’s Day instead?
